“At the beginning, people thought I had political motivations, like I was doing an antiadvertising crusade. I’d get hit up from magazines like Adbusters. But that’s not really my thing. I actually liked the visual nature of these ads. I really liked some of the photographers I was painting over.”—KAWS
“When you attack black people, they call it racism. When you attack Jewish people, they call it anti-Semitism. When you attack women, they call it sexism. When you attack homosexuality, they call it intolerance. When you attack your country, they call it treason. When you attack a religious sect, they call it hate speech. But when you attack the Prophet (PBUH), they want to call it freedom of speech!”—Mufti Kamani, Imam of Islamic Center of Chicago (via amnasaeed) (via vforvelleity)

Alright, so when you first got all up in my shit about the eye pictures I complety understood why, but then you just HAD to keep going on about it and call me a thief. I did not claim them as my own, I simply did not know where they came from. But wait! You're not finshed yet! You just had to be a 'proper' asshole and 'only posted one so you're not stealing all of them.' FUCK YOU, ass hole, don't get all high and mighty. So, suck it, it's Tumblr, go take a shit mother fucker. And I really hope you post this looking for sympathy from all your proper awesome friends. You make me laugh.
Do you know what smartass? I’ll write the guy you stole the images from and we’ll see. You didn’t know where the images came from? Like you downloaded them from under your bed or what you dirty liar? Also, ever heard of Google? It took me one search for “eyes” to find the source. You’re just a lazy bastard who fucks people over.
Last but not least there is a huge difference between citing a work and stealing it. Taking ten or more full size images and displaying them as yours is image theft. Even on Tumblr people don’t do that, they just take one or two.
A new study from Drexel University researchers published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine shows that when stores in poor neighborhoods do get fresh produce, it is more likely to be close to spoiling or have the potential to make people sick. After buying salad, strawberries, cucumbers and watermelon repeatedly over 15 months in the Philadelphia area, the scientists found that mold, microorganisms and bacteria were all more likely to be present on produce purchased from stores in poor neighborhoods than in wealthier ones. In other words, if you are a poor Philadelphian buying fruits and vegetables in your own neighborhood, chances are your produce will spoil faster and may give you food poisoning.
A white utility van emblazoned with the logo of the “Shoreditch Department of Advertising Correction” has been taking over political billboards in East London, changing Conservative Party ads to poetic or sometimes political ends. The group sends a press release and a series of photos of the billboard modifications, which started appearing around Old Street and Shoreditch High Street on April 19.
The work, by scientists in Portugal and Belgium, reveals that an increasing range of behaviours among the individuals of a population leads to cooperation, supporting the idea that democracy - where individuals are free to act as they wish - is in fact the path for better societies.
Richard Dawkins never gets tired of reminding us that evolution is based on the survival of the fittest and on selfishness. Every cell, every living thing is designed to promote its own survival, if necessary at the expense of everything else. Still, cooperation is very much alive, and more, is widespread, being found in a multitude of living beings from the cells of a multicellular organism to insects and of course humans - the “big cooperators”.
